On 4 March 2024, the European Commission, Clean Aviation JU and the European Committee of the Regions are organising a high-level workshop presenting the benefits of establishing synergies between EU and regional/national programmes for the aviation sector (e.g. the Cohesion Policy Funds/ERDF), and outlining future developments and opportunities.

This workshop will focus on:

  • The general framework for establishing synergies between Horizon Europe and regional/national programmes, and expected impact.
  • The CAJU’s action plan for synergies with regions: strategy and methodology to develop “synergies by design”, as well as the Memorandum of Cooperation model.
  • The value of synergies: views from regions who have engaged in cooperation with CAJU.
  • The EU long-term strategy on synergies in aviation research and innovation.
  • Extending the CAJU model for synergies in aviation to other sectors.

Please note this event will be organised in the context of the Clean Aviation Annual Forum 2024, which will take place on 5 and 6 March 2024. The draft agenda and some background information can be found in the attachments.

Registration details and more information can be found on the official announcement.

MareGraph - Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph

The MareGraph project, ‘Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph’, obtained funding under the Digital Europe topic ‘OPEN-AI – Public Sector Open Data for AI and Open Data Platform’. The project will increase the semantic, technical, and legal interoperability of three selected high-valued datasets (HVDs) all maintained by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), which is one of the four partners of the project. This will allow the onboarding of essential marine datasets in the Common European Data Spaces. As such MareGraph will provide a structural component in the digital transition of the marine landscape. The numerous impacts of the project will benefit our seas globally in old and new ways to come.
