Hungarian universities cut-off from horizon funds - FAQ update including list of institutes
The Commission has updated the FAQ's (now 12) regarding the exclusion of Hungarian universities from EU funding, the background of this issue is explained in this former news message.
The Commission refers to a Hungarian law article in this specific FAQ (published on 16/03/2023) where 34 affected institutes are listed. Though according to the NCP of Hungary solely the following 21 institutes are the ones of this list that are possible candidates for Horizon Europe participation, which they have listed and translated (same list as formerly published by Science Business):

- Hungarian University of Dance (Magyar Táncművészeti Egyetem)
- University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (Állatorvostudományi Egyetem)
- Moholy-Nagy University of Arts (Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem)
- Semmelweis University (Semmelweis Egyetem)
- János Neumann University (Neumann János Egyetem)
- University of Nyíregyháza (Nyíregyházi Egyetem)
- University of Pannonia (Pannon Egyetem - University of Pannonia)
- Óbuda University (Óbudai Egyetem)

STARGATE - Sustainable Aviation
The Stargate project obtained funding under the special Green Deal call of Horizon 2020, more in particular under the topic of “green ports and airports”. It received the maximum score of the evaluators and was selected out of more than 40 projects. Stargate’s purpose is to prove that sustainable aviation is possible and happening. It focuses on the further decarbonization of the aviation industry, the improvement of local environmental quality and the stimulation of the modal split. Together with a consortium of 21 European partners with a diverse and rich expertise (airports, community partners, knowledge institutions, consultants, local governments, …), Brussels Airports takes the lead as lighthouse airport to develop and implement innovative solutions. Results that prove successful can be deployed at the fellow airports (Toulouse, Budapest, Athens). Over the course of the coming five years, the consortium will exchange knowledge to investigate and realize more than 30 concrete projects.
