Funded under the EU’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, the MSCA4Ukraine scheme will provide fellowships to 124 doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from Ukraine to continue their research in 21 host countries. The list of successful applications was published by Scholars at Risk. The list, which for the moment includes 8 Flemish host institutions, is subject to change as applicants accept or decline their fellowship awards. The final list will be made available on the SAR website in due course and may include applicants currently on the ranked reserve list.
The MSCA4Ukraine Programme is implemented by a consortium comprised of Scholars at Risk Europe hosted at Maynooth University, Ireland (project coordinator), the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the European University Association, with the French national PAUSE programme, hosted by the Collège de France, and the global Scholars at Risk Network participating as associated partners. The call for submissions for MSCA4Ukraine opened on 24 October 2022. The MSCA4Ukraine portal is now closed to individual applications and host institutions until further notice.

The Stargate project obtained funding under the special Green Deal call of Horizon 2020, more in particular under the topic of “green ports and airports”. It received the maximum score of the evaluators and was selected out of more than 40 projects. Stargate’s purpose is to prove that sustainable aviation is possible and happening. It focuses on the further decarbonization of the aviation industry, the improvement of local environmental quality and the stimulation of the modal split. Together with a consortium of 21 European partners with a diverse and rich expertise (airports, community partners, knowledge institutions, consultants, local governments, …), Brussels Airports takes the lead as lighthouse airport to develop and implement innovative solutions. Results that prove successful can be deployed at the fellow airports (Toulouse, Budapest, Athens). Over the course of the coming five years, the consortium will exchange knowledge to investigate and realize more than 30 concrete projects.
