Following the recent publication of the European Defence Fund (EDF) Work Programme 2024, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) is informing us that the EDF Info Days 2024 will take place on 28-29 May, in hybrid format in Brussels and online.

Registrations will open soon. Meanwhile, please save the date.

This event is aimed at potential applicants from public and private entities established in the EU Member States and Norway. Further information on eligibility for EDF funding is provided on the EDF webpage (cf. section “Am I eligible for funding?”). The event format will be similar to the one of last year.

  • During the first day, DG DEFIS staff will present the EDF 2024 calls for proposals and explain the submission process.
  • During the second day, the event will provide a unique international networking opportunity to form defence R&D consortia and elaborate project proposals.

The event will also feature investor sessions and offer matchmaking opportunities for companies looking for investors.

ScreenME - Enhancing excellence in screen media entrepreneurship

The Horizon2020 twinning project ScreenME has as its objective to enhance excellence in screen media entrepreneurship at Tallinn University (TLU). To do so, ScreenME has established a network of universities across Europe that aim to improve research into and teaching of entrepreneurship for the screen media industry. ScreenME will develop a teaching course and will kick off research initiatives and projects on entrepreneurial activities in media organisations. The research group on ‘Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology (SMIT)’ of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is partner in the network and is involved in two cross-cutting activities of the project: support for early stage researchers and developing stakeholder involvement.
